Film Night at the Bothy - Dummy Jim
We’ve been offered the chance of special screenings of a film called “Dummy Jim” which was shot in Aberdeenshire. It’s a mixture of documentary and fiction and tells the story of a young, profoundly deaf man from Cairnbulg near Fraserburgh who cycled in the 1950s all the way from Cairnbulg to the Artic Circle and back. It’s of local interest, a great story, a critically well received film and will be accompanied by some live music from the musicians who played on the film and a Q & A with the director, Matt Hulse.
I enclose a press release on the film which gives some information and you can check out the trailer by following this link:http://vimeo.com/30690907

Curios Project
The CURIOS team from Aberdeen University have set a date and time for their presentation at the Salmon Bothy. This will take place on Tuesday 10th June at 6pm. It will be extremely interesting to see how they have developed the data which has been collated.
If you're interested in family/local history in the area, why not come along? There is scope for building on the foundation which now exists, so even if you haven't been involved up to now, you can still make a contribution to this exciting project!
